Exhibition Theme: IN TRANSIT – Power to the People
Organizers: The Photocopy Club
Dates: March 14th – 16th, 2025
As part of FORMAT25, one of the UK’s leading international photography festivals, The Photocopy Club presents IN TRANSIT, an unapologetic exhibition centered around protest, resistance, and collective visual storytelling.
Under the theme “Power to the People,” artists from around the world use black-and-white photocopied prints (laser/Xerox) to revive the aesthetic of grassroots zines, protest posters, and underground visual movements, media that have long given power to unheard voices.
For this exhibition, I submitted Silent Breath, a work that cuts deep into the struggle for liberation, dignity, and survival. It captures a body restrained, a moment of suffocation, a symbol of systemic force. The image is stripped of colour, intensified by the photocopy format, and printed on red paper, not just for effect, but to ignite emotion. Red for urgency. Red for blood. Red for resistance.
In this context, Silent Breath becomes more than a photograph, it becomes a protest artifact. A visual cry. A refusal to be ignored.
This piece stands in solidarity with every voice demanding justice. It’s not silent at all.
