Exhibition Theme: Spring Open Exhibition
Organizers: The Poly
The Poly Gallery, Falmouth, UK
Dates: April 22nd – 26th, 2025
As part of its annual Spring Open Exhibition, The Poly welcomed artists across mediums and perspectives to explore and respond to the theme of openness. In this curated showcase, voices converged, raw, refined, radical to reflect the diverse narratives shaping our present.
For this show, I presented Silent Breath, a piece that speaks to the quiet weight people carry when forced into silence. A body held down. A breath withheld. A soul resisting. This image confronts the viewer not with chaos, but with stillness, because sometimes the most violent thing is what goes unsaid.
In Silent Breath, survival itself becomes a form of protest. The stark contrast, the fragmented body, the force pressed upon it, all converge to ask: how much can we bear before silence breaks us?
Watching people pause before it, reflect, and connect reminded me of why we create. Not for applause. But for conversation. For confrontation. For community.

This work, nestled in the walls of The Poly’s Spring Gallery, became more than a framed moment, it became a mirror.
A reminder.
A refusal.
A breath that will not be forgotten.
